3 years in Amsterdam. Endless events attended. Zero real friends made. Until I stopped searching and started building.

I left South Africa in 2022 chasing opportunity, but leaving everything familiar behind cuts deep. Sports have always been my anchor, the place where I found my people, my sense of belonging, my home away from home.

​

Amsterdam had communities, but they felt hollow. Surface level connections dressed up for Instagram. So I built Howzit. Named after South Africa's warmest greeting, the one that says "you're welcome here" without needing to ask. It's how we greet friends, welcome strangers, bring people together.
