In 2022, I made the move from beautiful Cape Town to Amsterdam. It was everything I'd dreamed of: the chance to live abroad, to immerse myself in a different culture, to discover what else was possible. But dreams don't prepare you for the reality. It's been a journey, and honestly, nothing about it has been easy.

 

Leaving family behind was just the beginning. I came here chasing something bigger: growth, meaning, the chance to build something that mattered. But the further I got from home, the clearer things became. For my entire career, I'd been working in roles that never aligned with who I truly am. Corporate life, the 9 to 5 grind... I kept showing up, kept pushing through, but nothing ever felt right. Like I was living someone else's life.

 

So when the opportunity finally came to make a real change, I didn't hesitate. I went all in.
